VIRTUAL PHYSIO

Our Virtual Physio consultations are conducted via Video call where you can see us and we can see you. This allows us to not only talk to you about your injury but also to visually assessment your movement, review your technique, and educate you on appropriate rehab exercises. Our Virtual Physio technology is very simple to us and using a cloud based program we can connect you with ease via your smartphone, tablet or PC.

PHYSIO on the PHONE

If you are still concerned that a virtual physio consultation might be above your technology capabilities then a Phone consultation with one our Physio’s is your best bet. We will call you at the time of your scheduled appointment to discuss the most appropriate management of your injury over the phone.

WHAT IS VIRTUAL PHYSIO/TELEHEALTH?
Telehealth is the term used for a medical or allied health consultation delivered over the internet using video-call technology. It’s a fast-growing way of delivering health services and in the current COVID-19 pandemic it is a fantastic solution to ensuring you can still receive Physiotherapy advice and exercise based treatment.

WHAT IT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED FOR VIRTUAL PHYSIO?
All you need is a computer, a smartphone or a tablet which is connected to a high-speed internet connection. When you book a Virtual Physio appointment you will be emailed a link to your video call from our practice management software. This simple platform makes it a breeze to connect, even for those who aren’t very tech savvy.

HOW DOES A VIRTUAL PHYSIO APPOINTMENT COMPARE WITH AN IN CLINIC APPOINTMENT?
Research has shown that injury diagnosis and guidance from Video call appointments is no less accurate than an in clinic appointment. We can still ask you lots of questions, observe your movement, educate you on your injury, create and teach exercise programs, and tinker with your technique. We can also still refer you for appropriate imaging, taking significant pressure away from an already overloaded GP system.

WHO CAN BOOK A VIRTUAL OR PHONE CONSULTATION?
Anyone can book these types of appointments. Simply book online above or call the clinic to schedule. If you already have an in clinic appointment scheduled and wish to switch to a Telehealth appointment then this can easily be arranged by contacting reception.

CAN I CLAIM A VIRTUAL OR PHONE APPOINTMENT VIA MY PRIVATE HEALTH INSURER IN THE CLINIC?
On the 26 March 2020 a number of private health insurers announced they are may offer telehealth appointment rebates from 14 April 2020 where members meet certain criteria. Given the current impact of COVID-19 in Australia, there is immense pressure for this to be implemented by more insurance providers and we expect the numbers offering these rebates will only increase. Check with your insurer if you wish to confirm your level of cover for these items.
